What Does a Wellness Coach Do?
A Wellness coach’s practice includes all aspects of wellness and views each person in their wholeness as a human being. Keeping in mind, one aspect of life impacts all aspects of life.
How Does Coaching Work?
Coaching takes place by telephone or by a video call, so you don’t have to leave your home. On the Discovery Call, we’ll start our conversation by getting to know each other a bit. You might have questions for me. I’ll ask you what brought you to coaching and what you’d like to have happen. There’s no pressure to reveal any more than you’re ready to talk about. We’ll also discuss logistics, like a time and date to meet, the coaching agreement and financial commitment.
How Can a Coach Help Me?
We are often stuck in a mood or frame of reference that keeps us stalled in our efforts to move forward. Your heart is breaking and you may not know what to do with yourself. You might be withdrawing from friends and family or losing interest in those things that used to bring you enjoyment. Coaching is like a friend that comes alongside you, stands shoulder-to-shoulder with you and guides you through those limiting beliefs or thoughts that keep you stuck. Maybe you’re in a self-destructive way of eating like I was, and just don’t know why you can’t stop yourself. Coaching can help you find those resources from within that strengthen your resolve and clear your pathway to success. For most, the coaching experience is different and yet shares many common denominators. There’s no way to fully explain the benefits and personal growth that affect not only you but the world around you in a most positive way. I know, I’ve had my coach for over five years and the experience continues to greatly benefit me and those I love.
What happens during a coaching session?
Each session is within a timeframe, depending on the service of your choice. The session itself will be different depending on what the client chooses to “work” on. The focus will always be on you, the client, and what you want to change or have happen. It is always a confidential environment unless the coach feels you will be a danger to yourself or others. A coaching session provides a safe environment for you to express yourself fully and without reservation or judgment.
Can’t I just do this on my own or by reading a book?
Coaching helps you move beyond your personal boundaries and limitations. It finds and gently brings to light the blind spots that keep you stuck in a place you don’t want to be. A Wellness Coach guides you to find your full potential to change or “unclutter” the old beliefs and habits that no longer serve you.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require a 24-hour notice to cancel any session. Please contact me by text or phone if you will not be able to make your scheduled appointment in order to avoid being charged for the session.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No, you will not have to sign a contract that binds you to a financial commitment. You will be asked to sign a coaching agreement which outlines the expectations and responsibilities of both the coach and the client. Initially, I require a minimum three-month commitment which gives us time to develop long-term results for you, the client.
What do I need to know before I begin?
Before we meet for our coaching session, you will be provided with a “Desired Outcome” sheet that you will fill out and return to me. The Desired Outcome sheet will be fully explained during our initial conversation. Additionally, you will have agreed upon homework to finish between sessions. This “homework” will be simple and not consume a great amount of time. However, it will prove to be a valuable resource used to deepen the process of coaching and allow you to meet your desired outcome(s) quickly.
How much does it cost?
Please see the “Services” page.
